John Albert Tallman, Jr.

Funeral services for John A. Tallman, Jr., 82, will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to service time. Officiating the service will be Dr. Murry Hodge. John was born on January 14, 1940 in Washington, DC to John Albert Tallman, Sr. and Violet Naomi Gates and passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. John was a resident of Shreveport. He graduated from Louisiana Tech with a Master's Degree in Psychology. He served in the Marine Corps/US Air Force for 22 years. He was funny, corny, silly, a prankster and always joking that kept everyone laughing. John liked to cook, photography and taking care of his wife of 20 years, "Kat." He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Dan Switzer. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Donna Katherine Tallman; daughter, Jodie Taylor and husband, Jud; daughter, Tracy Pena and husband, Miguel; grandchildren, Judson Taylor and Garett Taylor and wife, Victoria, Violet Pena, Greyson Pena, Clementine Pena; great-grandchild, Elliott Taylor; other children, Stephen Farmer and wife, Angela and Stephanie Adams; other grandchildren, Victoria Adams, Valerie Adams, Chloe Farmer, Colton Adams and Harley Farmer; and other great-grandchild, Aubrey Ard; cousin, Rick Tallman and wife, Grace whom John had a brotherly bond with throughout his life; sisters, Linda Austin and husband, Larry and Ginny Switzer; numerous nieces, a nephew, other extended family members and friends; and his special Boston Terrier, "Baby Girl," that was his constant companion. The family would like to express special thanks to Fire Stations 15 and 17 for their quick response and all their courageous efforts to save John's life. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
