Funeral services were held for Mrs. Joe Ann Yancy Camp, 77, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 10 am with Rev. Brian Thurman officiating. Interment was at Adkins Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 pm. Mrs. Camp was born Oct. 29, 1936 in Lufkin, TX to Henry Lee Yancy, Jr. and Imogene Weeks Yancy. She entered into rest Friday, March 21st in Shreveport following a sudden illness. Mrs. Camp enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting, playing music, cooking and collecting gourds. She was a very talented lady and will be missed very much. Mrs. Camp was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James H. Camp, Sr.; her parents; her step-father, Alton Leland Fowler; sister, Jearline Dawsey; and brother, Charles Roger Yancy. She is survived by 2 sons, James H. Camp, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Homer and Andrew Lee "Andy" Camp of Homer; daughter, Susan Covington of Homer; 2 sisters, Jeanette Irene Moore of Houston and Doris Gene Green of Kannapolis, NC; 6 grandchildren, April Camp Aguilar and husband, Mike, Josh Camp, Lacy Camp, Jonathan Camp and wife, Angel, Jessica Covington and Katie Covington; 5 great-grandchildren, Michael Ray Aguilar, Daniel Nicholas Aguilar, Blake Camp, Bentley Camp and Carly Gonzalez; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Josh Camp, Jon Camp, Cullen \"Sonny Boy\" Clary, Phil Clary, Everett Clary and Joel Clary. For friends considering memorials honoring Mrs. Camp, her family suggests the American Cancer Society or St. Jude.
