Jody Ann Kennedy

Funeral services for Jody Ann Kennedy, 63, will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church, 5638 Beech Springs Rd., Quitman, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery in Quitman, Louisiana.  A visitation will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating will be Reverend Carson Cowart. 

Jody was born June 24, 1960 to Edd Joe Harmon and Mattie Charlotte Drake Harmon in Robstown, Texas and passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in Keithville, Louisiana. 

Jody was a very strong, charismatic woman who loved reading the bible and sharing the salvation and good news of Jesus. She married her husband, Don, on May 13, 1989 and he was the love of her life. Jody loved her family very much. She enjoyed reading her bible and she was just the most positive person you could ever know. Jody worked for UPS for 34 years, delivering packages. Jody fought a lengthy battle with Parkinsons, but she had an inner strength that was incredible. It was her wish to be received in Heaven by her Lord and savior Jesus Christ, with him saying, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. 

Jody is preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Mattie Harmon. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Don Kennedy; sons, Colt Kennedy and Brandon Gongre; sister, Sue Campbell and husband, Dody; grandsons, Jacob Gongre, Tatum James Gongre and Bowden Andrew Gongre and many family members and friends. 

Honoring Jody as pallbearers will be Jesse Kennedy, Jimmy Butler, Seth Dark, Mark Hammons, James Hammons and Cody Hammons. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Colt Kennedy, Jacob Gongre, Brandon Gongre, Jason Campbell, Buddy Skains and Steve Kelley.
