Jo Ann Townsend Angell

Jo Ann Townsend Angell, age 84 of Cleveland, Texas passed away on September 11, 2022 in Livingston, Texas. A graveside service will be held for her on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Beulah United Methodist Church Cemetery in Marthaville, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m. with Floyd Townsend  officiating.

She was born to Joe Henry Townsend and Lener Jones Townsend on January 4, 1938 in Marthaville, Louisiana. She left Louisiana at the age of 18 and has now come “HOME” to rest. She often said she longed to return home to Marthaville. Her family knew with her passing she would be brought to her final resting place of her childhood home in Marthaville, Louisiana; she is now at peace and resting. While living her life to the fullest some of her favorite past time hobbies was that of embroidery, quilting and crocheting that including working with material and beads. She even went on to make necklaces and other jewelry pieces from her talented hobby. Jo Ann would then give her items she made to family and friends as a token of love and respect.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Joe and Lener Townsend; brothers, Frank Oliver Townsend, George Kenneth Townsend, and Roy Gene Townsend. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Allie Mae Angell Loftin of Los Angeles, California, Diana Angell Shields of Brownsboro, Texas, and Joyce Eugenia Angell Knudson and husband, Torrey Alan of Cleveland, Texas; her son, Joe Robert Angell of Brownsboro, Texas; sisters, Elizabeth Townsend Lemoine of Campti, Louisiana, Myrtie Mae Townsend Holley and husband, Steve of Hornbeck, Louisiana, and Lena Lanell Townsend Settle and husband, John of Natchitoches, Louisiana; her brother, Earl K. Townsend and wife, Grace of Natchitoches, Louisiana; along with 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
