Jimmy Smith Sr.

Funeral services for Jimmy H. Smith, Sr will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Doug Gregg and Bro. Nick Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana with military rites. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am. Tuesday until service time at the church.

Jimmy was born May 15, 1939, in Thonotosassa, Florida and went to his heavenly home on February 14, 2026, in Minden, Louisiana. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a faithful member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and he loved sharing his Lord and Savior through his singing about Jesus. Jimmy served as a Trustee of Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary and was a member of Pine Hills Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny F. Smith, Sr; mother, Ruby Pearl Smith; brother, Johnny F. Smith, Jr.; sister, Jo Ann Smith Taylor; son DeWayne Estine Smith; and first wife, Iris Marie Smith.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Joy T. Smith of Minden; sons, Jimmy Hiram Smith, Jr (Christina) of Minden and John McLemore (Mandy) of Minden; daughter, Jennifer Cox (Ronnie); brother, Charles Herbert Smith of Winter Garden, Florida; grandchildren, Ashton (Patrick), Madison, Cameron, Nick (Cayla), Brittany (Donnie), Ryan, and Zachary (Megan) and 6 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Nick Cox, Ronnie Cox, Dennis Botzong, Patrick Heard, John McLemore, and David Botzong.
