Funeral services Jimmy Roy Hope "Pops", 80, will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 304 Sibley Street, Benton, Louisiana. A burial will follow at Plain Dealing Cemetery, LA-157, Plain Dealing, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Don Crook.
Jimmy was born on April 2, 1941 to Roy and Edith Hope in Plain Dealing, Louisiana and passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Benton, Louisiana.
After Jimmy graduated from Benton High School, he began his career as a mechanic. He was an avid deer and squirrel hunter. Jimmy also enjoyed riding horses, watching Nascar and had a passion for guns. Above all, he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Hope; children, Becky Chase and husband, Jimmy, Lisa Greer and husband, John and Jimmie Richardson; stepsons, Shane Spruell, Chris Spruell and wife, Sally and Andy Burson; brothers, Donnie Hope and wife, Janet, David Hope, James Hope and wife, Stephanie; sisters, Maxine Wilson and husband, Jerry and Christine Gibson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Honoring Jimmy as pallbearers will be Kyle Lawrence, Levi Richardson, Riley Richardson, Chris Spruell, Shane Spruell and Andy Burson.
