Jimmy Clay Roach was truly one of a kind. He was a man who left an impression on everyone he met, and his presence was something you never forgot.
Jimmy was, without a doubt, the hardest-working person many of us will ever know. He believed in working hard, giving his all, and never shying away from a challenge. Beyond his incredible work ethic, Jimmy had a heart of gold. He was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his infectious laugh could light up a room. He had a way of making people smile and bringing laughter wherever he went.
Throughout his working years, Jimmy was affectionately known to many as “Roach.” He began his career as a journeyman and, through years of hard work, dedication, and determination, worked his way up to Foreman. He earned that position through experience, commitment, and a willingness to put in the work. His career was a reflection of the man he was: hardworking, dependable, and never afraid to get his hands dirty. He earned the respect of those he worked alongside, and the name “Roach” will undoubtedly bring back many memories for those who knew him throughout his career.
Music was a big part of Jimmy’s life. He loved all kinds of music, but rock and roll always held a special place in his heart. He especially loved playing the drums, where he could lose himself in the music and let his personality shine.
When he wasn’t working or making music, Jimmy loved being outdoors, especially fishing and spending time out on the water. He also loved the freedom of the open road, riding on his Harley-Davidson with the wind in his face. Whether he was enjoying time on the water or riding down the open road, Jimmy appreciated the simple pleasures and adventures that life had to offer. Those were the moments that made him happy.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved father, James Douglas Roach, whom he now joins in eternal rest.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Sara; his mother, Patsy Roach; his sister, Rachel Rambo, and her husband, Dan; his two children, James Taylor Roach and Samantha M’Lyn Roach; and his stepchildren, Angel Hartsfield, Terry Durr, and Phillip and his wife, Julia.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Melynie, Koben, Naomi, Ashley Baldree, and Tyler Baldree; his great-grandchildren, Laikyn Baldree, Triniti Baldree, and Tyson Baldree; and his nieces, Kelsey (Zach Harrington) and Kayla (Sam DeVries).
Jimmy was one of those rare people who could never be replaced. His hard work, big heart, unforgettable laugh, love of music, and one-of-a-kind personality will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Though he may be gone, the memories he leaves behind, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will live on forever.
He was one of a kind, and there will never be another Jimmy.
Rest peacefully, Roach. You will never be forgotten.
