Jimmy Green, Jr.

A graveside service for Jimmy Green, Jr., 74, will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road in Keithville, Louisiana. Jimmy was born November 6, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jimmie L. Green and Leola Green and passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 in Shreveport. Jimmy was a resident of Keithville, Louisiana and worked as a truck driver before retiring. He was a Vietnam veteran. He enjoyed gardening, vacationing with family and cooking. His pralines were very well known! Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Acres; and brother, Donald Green. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Wanda Green; daughter Jaime Adams and husband, Tony; son, Christopher Green; grandchildren, Brianna Green, Keri Adams, Kaci Green, and Aaron Adams; brother, Raymond Green and wife, Rusty, and Henry Green; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to the Willis-Knighton South 2nd Floor ICU staff and Dr. Morrison for all the excellent care and compassion given to Jimmy, and the staff of the Carpenter House for their wonderful care and support. The family suggests memorials may be made to the DAV, Veterans Home, or to the Vietnam Veterans.
