Jimmy Don Dove

Jimmy Don Dove was born September 21, 1950 in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 surrounded by family in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Jimmy was married to the love of his life, Frances, who he loved more than life itself. While they had no children of their own, he showered Bill Whiteside and Kristina Cox with his fatherly love, guidance, and trust. His career achievement was honorably and humbly serving as Shreveport City Marshal. He retired in 2008 after 31 years of service to the City of Shreveport. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jimmy, and he enjoyed many adventures traveling with his wife and best friends. Jimmy Don's unique sense of humor, wild stories and his wisdom will be sorely missed.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Lloyd Dove and Sue R Gordon, as well as his niece, Toni Dove and nephew, Trinity Dove.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Dove and fur baby, Lucy of Bossier City, LA; brothers, Bennie Lloyd Dove and wife, Kathy of Many, LA and Michael Gene Dove and wife, Bethea of Waco, TX; nieces, Tara Ortiz, Carla Ebert and husband, Daniel, Christy Whiteside and husband, Bill and Kristina Cox and husband, Curtis; nephews, Jason Darnell and wife, Tracy and Travis Dove; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.
