Funeral services honoring Mr. Jimmie Dean Smith will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Arcadia, with Bro. Stephen Beard officiating. The burial will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Jimmie was born on September 10, 1957, to Bobby and Joan Smith. He entered into rest on April 29, 2026, with his family by his side. He was a devoted Christian man whose greatest accomplishment was being saved and living for the Lord. Some of his ministry included serving with a jail ministry team but also included living his life for the Lord with integrity for others to witness. Jimmie enjoyed hunting and loved fishing. He was the Bienville Parish Tax Assessor until his retirement in 2015. Jimmie loved his ladies at the Assessor’s office. Jimmie was a devoted husband, an amazing dad, an adoring grandfather, a loving brother and uncle, and a great friend.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Joan Smith, nephew Michael Smith, and by brothers-in-law Hank Barger, Ken Albert Taylor, and Janna Warren.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Lindy Smith, children; Brandy Smith, Steven Smith and wife Jennifer, and Spencer Smith, grandchildren; Kaylea Murphy, Julieanna Smith, Avery Smith, and Emma Smith, great granddaughter, Hayzlea, siblings; Robert “Bo” Smith and wife Cathy, Patti Parker and husband Steve, and Pame Barger, sister-in-law, Kaye Taylor, and by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Honoring Jimmie as pallbearers will be Eddie Holmes, Clint Smith, Jeason Smith, Phillip Smith, Chris Holomon, Cohen Holomon, Jeremy Schomburg, and Michelle Savage.
