Funeral services for Jimmie Rodney Cobb will be held at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Mansfield, Louisiana on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Margaret Ayer officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation in the parish hall on Wednesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, Louisiana. Rodney was born on January 6, 1947 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Emmett Hugh Cobb & Dorothy Jewell Pickett Cobb. He entered into rest on November 17, 2019 at his home in Mansfield surrounded by his family. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School and served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Mansfield Postal Service after working there for 40 years. He was most proud to own a cattle ranch with his son Rodney and was at his happiest watching over the herd and tending to the daily chores at the farm. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, along with many aunts & uncles. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife; Diane O'Brien Cobb, daughter; Jodie Cobb Legendre & husband Steve of Baton Rouge, LA, Son; Rodney Fox Cobb & wife Mary Vay of Mansfield, LA, grandchildren; Avery, Hallie, & Luke Legendre, Sara, Josey & Jessie Kate Cobb. Stepchildren; Krystal Eason & wife Julie of Shreveport, LA, Erika Wilson & husband Craig of Rome, GA, and Amy Stroud & husband Stephen of Logansport, LA. Step grandchildren; Patrick, Simon & Elliot Wilson, Inda & Ashley Gurley, Izabelle & Layton Stroud. Honoring the life of Rodney as pallbearers will be Teddy Ray Basco, Pat Boose. Orlin Dodson, Joe Craig Fleniken, Herman Gamble, Delbert Rains & Tony Mack Stewart. The family would like to thank Dr. Anil Veluvolu and nurse Wanda Rae Strong for their care and compassion shown to our loved one.
