Jewell Pauline Young

A private graveside service for Mrs. Jewell Pauline Pelham Young, 92, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Joey Ketchum assisted by Chaplain Randy Goudeau.

Pauline was born December 9, 1929 to Leonard and Mattie Pelham in Beckville, Texas and passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Pauline was a resident of Shreveport and worked for South Central Bell for almost 27 years as a supervisor. She was a member of Willow Point Baptist Church.

Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Young; mother, Mattie Pelham; and daughter, Paula King. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Billie Osborn Pitner and husband, George of Shreveport and Debbie Herrell and husband, Denny of Columbus, Mississippi; sister, Ann Barnes and husband,  Walter (Tot) of Shreveport; grandchildren, Jessica Tidwell and husband, Brian of Marshall, Texas; grandson, Alex King and wife, Tiffany of Pineville; nephews, Wayne and Mike Barnes; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Kris Barnes, Holly, Nadia and Mya for all the excellent care and compassion and special pampering given to Pauline. The family would also like to give special thanks to  the Guest House Nursing and Rehabilitation staff and Regional Hospice for the excellent care provided to Pauline.
