Jewel Dalton, Jr.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Jewel Weldon Dalton, Jr., 83, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Brother Don Francis.

Jewel was born August 1, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Jewel Weldon Dalton, Sr., and Helen Adell Kissinger Dalton, and went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 7, 2022, in Haughton, Louisiana.

Jewel didn’t have very many hobbies, but the one he did have was working. He also had to stay busy either fixing something, cutting wood, or just peddling around. He loved to cook and eat. He always was fixing food for the church and spent most of his time at the church. Jewel loved to sing in the choir at church. What everyone is going to miss the most about him is his dry sense of humor and his hugs and handshakes. Jewel was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend and is going to be greatly missed.

Jewel is preceded in death by his wife, Edith Marie Bickelman Dalton, and his parents. He is survived by his son, Robert Allen Dalton, Sr. and wife, Jan; daughter, Helen Marie Willis and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Robert “BJ” Allen Dalton, Jr., and wife, Rachael, Amanda Mariee Dalton, Holly Ann McCormick and husband, Jarred, Tony Ailstock and wife, Jessie, Arik Ailstock and wife, Jessica, James Russell Ferguson, Jr., and Felicia Croft and husband, Scotty; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be BJ Dalton, Russell Ferguson, Tony Ailstock, Arik Ailstock, and Jarred McCormick.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Professional Home Health, Nurse Laura Hamilton, Hand to Hand Hospice, Nurse Denise Killen, Dr. Sanjaykumar Shah, Nurse Melissa, the church family at Eastwood Baptist Church, Brother Don Francis, and Jennifer Francis.
