Jessie "Gerty" McKeithen Sullivan

Funeral services for Jessie “Gerty” Gertrude Sullivan, 88, of Bossier City, will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Reverend Kent Greer.

Jessie Gertrude Sullivan graced this earth with her light on August 9, 1935, to Jesse Calop and Katie McKeithen in Winnsboro Louisiana, and returned home to our Lord and Savior on Monday, October 2, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was lovingly welcomed in heaven by her husband, mother, father, and all her siblings.

Jessie was the first daughter and child and she and her siblings James, Jerry, and Linda Faye spent their childhood on their parents’ farm in Delhi, Louisiana.

Jessie found young love in Jesse Warren Sullivan. They shared over 45 years of marriage together and welcomed three daughters to this world: Judy Sullivan Greene, Debra Ann Jones, and Pamela Jean Lovell. She was blessed to experience the births of many grandchildren.

She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 175 of Bossier City for over 25 years.

She was a vibrant woman, full of life and surrounded by love and family and she and her beautiful smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; and husband, Jesse W. Sullivan. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Judy Sullivan Greene, Debra Ann Jones and husband, Kenny, Pamela Jean Lovell and husband, Toby; grandchildren, Melissa Carol Kruise and husband, Jerry, Kimberly Jean Humphries and husband, Logan, Larry Lane Anderson, and wife, Chelsea,  Katie Maryak and husband, Tyler; great-grandchildren, Kenlie Michelle, Race Glen, Gabriella Camille, and Garrison Luc; fur baby Cookie, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff and doctors at Willis Knighton Bossier and the faculty and staff at Pilgrim Manor Rehabilitation Center.
