Jesse Raymond Hemperley left this world for a better world to be with his wife Tina and daughter JoAnn on May 15, 2020 at his home on scenic Caddo Lake. He was born January 25, 1936 in Vivian, Louisiana to his parents John Raymond Hemperley and Sybol O'Pry.
Jesse grew up on the family farm in Gilliam and attended school in Belcher where he was a President of the Student Council, a member of the 4-H Club, band, Boy Scouts, Choral Club, and the basketball team.
Following graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Earnestine Parker and worked in propane and fertilizer sales. Jesse was best known for his dedication to family, his love for fishing and hunting, cooking great meals, helping others and his wonderful sense of humor.
Jesse served in the National Guard; was a member of the Ida Masonic Lodge #324, the Mithra Grotto and the Belcher Masonic Lodge #332 where he served as Worshipful Master.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Earnestine "Tina" Parker Hemperley; daughter Jo Ann Hemperley, brother Don Hemperley, and sister Mona Rose Hemperley Goodwin Smith. Left to behind to cherish his memory are daughter Janet Stanley (Rickey) of Oil City and son John Hemperley (Patty) of El Dorado, Arkansas, grandsons David Stanley, Greg Stanley, Brian Stanley, Justin Hemperley and eight great-grandchildren, Skyla, Kamilla, Sophia, Dominic, Aiyden, Ethen, Lila and Nolan. Jesse is also survived by his sister-in-law, Kookie Hemperley.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, DeBerry, TX with Rev. Kevin Smith officiating. There will be a time of visitation on Sunday, May 17th at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children\'s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
