Coushatta, LA - A funeral service celebrating the life of Jerry Glenn Wood, 80, was held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta with Reverend Terry Wheless officiating. Interment followed in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in the Fairview community. The family received friends from noon until service time of the funeral. Mr. Wood was born on March 22, 1938 in East Point, LA to Eddie and Buna Izella Collingsworth Wood and passed away September 26, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. He was a retired captain with the Shreveport Police Department. He will be dearly missed. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earnest Ray Wood and infant sister, father-in-law, Youree Mangham and mother-in-law, Dorothy Mangham. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rita Mangham Wood; sons, Jeffrey Glenn Wood and wife, Paige of Goldonna, LA and Christopher Dale Wood and wife, Misty of Coushatta, LA; daughter, Amie Kathleen Cross and husband, Kelly of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Lauren Mitchell and husband, Anthony, Mallory Yount and husband, Taylor, Saxi Tuggle and husband, B. J., Darren Wood and wife, Brooke, and Kelly Cross, Jr; six great-grandchildren; other relatives, include sister-in-law, Judy Mangham, brother-in-law, Leslie Mangham of DeBerry, TX and other nieces and nephews. Honoring Mr. Wood as pallbearers were Darren Wood, B. J. Tuggle, Stephen Giddens, Dan Cason, Dustin Smart and Anthony Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
