Funeral Services for Jerry Duane Stovall will be held Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana. Officiating will be Steven Stovall. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in Athens, Louisiana.
Jerry was born January 4, 1942, in Martin, Louisiana and entered into rest August 10, 2026, in Sarepta, Louisiana. He was a heavy equipment operator for Madden Contracting Company for 50+ years until the day he passed away at 84 years old. Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life. Jerry was also an Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam war.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, D.V. and Maude Stovall, his daughter, Tammy Stovall Shaw and brothers Don and Dan Stovall.
He is survived by his daughters, Darla Pate (Jeff) of Heflin, La., Stacey Burt (Monty) of Minden, sisters, Sue Langheld of Athens, Margie Stovall and Shelia Phillips (Paul) of Minden, and brothers, Royce Stovall (Sheree) of Athens and Marion Stovall (Peggy) of Athens. He also had seven grandsons who will serve as Pallbearers: Jerry Pate, Cameron Pate, Jacob Burt, Jarett Burt, Daniel Puckett, Dakota Puckett, and Drake Puckett. He also had numerous nephews and nieces.
Those who knew Jerry know that he is also survived by his constant sidekick “Lilly”. Lilly was his little dog whom he loved very much. She was his constant companion.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Leatherman Creek Hunting Club and co-workers of Madden Contracting Company.
