Jerry Glen Shafer

 A funeral service for Jerry Glen Shafer, 70, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow the service at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Tom Brown.

Jerry was born September 7, 1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Teddy Theodore Shafer and Lois Marie Baker Shafer, and went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2022.

Jerry was a hard-working man who enjoyed fixing anything that needed fixing. He worked as a mechanic for about 40 years. His’s hobbies included playing cards, slot machines, and fishing. Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends and is going to be greatly missed by all.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Shafer. He is survived by his brothers, Leonard Shafer and Clinton Shafer; niece, Donna Shafer; nephews, Scott Shafer and Teddy Shafer; and long-time friend, Judy Reid and her daughters, Jenny Reid and Windy Reid.  

Honoring Jerry as pallbearers will be little Michael Baker, Paul Baker, Sr., Paul Baker II, Chase Baker, Cody Sampson, and Richard Kent.
