Funeral services for Jerry Lynn Hasty Sr., 78, will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Family Worship Center, 2665 Williamson Way, Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Steve Hill. Jerry was born on March 19, 1942 to Joseph Thomas Hasty and Myrtis Lee Haddox Hasty in Ringgold, Louisiana and passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Jerry was a resident of Keithville, Louisiana and worked at Exide Technologies where he retired after 38 years of service . He graduated from Minden High School in 1961 and married his high school sweetheart, Lenettie White. They just celebrated 60 years of marriage on October 6, 2020. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish, especially in big bass tournaments. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and especially his favorite son, Jerry. He had a passion for old time gospel music and gathering around the kitchen table with family telling old stories. He loved playing dominoes and was known at the battery plant as "Coach." He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Don Edward Hasty, Myrtis Lee Haddox Hasty and Joseph Thomas Hasty. He is survived by his wife, Lenettie White Hasty; children, Susan Wilson and husband, Tim Wilson, Pam Popejoy and husband, Mark Popejoy Sr., and Jerry Lynn Hasty and wife, Hillary Hasty; sister, Sherry Tripplett and husband, Robert Tripplett; grandchildren, Stacy Wilson Farley and husband, Joe Farley, Tracy Wilson Bright and husband, Whitney Bright, Laura Popejoy, Timothy (Bubba) Wilson and wife, Kristi Wilson, Mark Popejoy Jr. and wife, Christina, Brooke Hasty, Dawson Hasty and Knox Joleigh Hasty; and 11 great-grandchildren. Honoring Jerry as pallbearers will be Timothy Wilson, Mark Popejoy Jr., Joe Farley, Whitney Bright, Milton (Buster) Rhoads, Billy Glass and George Goldman. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Gerald White. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a memorial contribution to go towards purchasing a monument for Jerry's grave, they can be sent to Lenettie Hasty, 10005 Woolworth Road, Keithville, Louisiana, 71047.
