Jerry W. King

Funeral services for Jerry W. King, Sr., 83, will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Brother Jeff Fiebel.

Jerry was born November 14, 1942 to Cass and Beulah King in Natchitoches, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026 after a lengthy illness.

Jerry grew up in Marthaville until his family moved to Shreveport where he graduated from Fair Park in 1959. He met the love of his life, Patsy, and they were married August 25, 1962. Together they raised a family of three children, Jerry Wayne, Sandra and Jason.

Jerry was a born talker. That is why he was a great salesman for many years. In 1983, he and his wife bought a little store in the country. Jerry made that little store the center of the community in Longwood. For many years, he cooked steaks at Longwood. Not sure if people came for the steaks or Jerry's stories. He was proud of his community, and he became an Auxillary Deputy for Caddo Parish in 2001. It was one of his greatest accomplishments.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Cass and Beulah King; son, Jerry W. King, Jr.; brothers, Sonny King and Carl (Joey) King; sisters, Doris Hight, Virginia Freeman; and grandson, Justin Brooks. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Patsy; son, Jason King, Sr.; daughters, Sandy King and Paula Shoebroek, Michelle King; grandchildren, Kyle King, Sr., Bobbie King, Cody Spivey, Jason King, Jr., Micheal King, Jerod King, Haley Brooks, Jordan Chaffin and Jaylynn King; great-grandchildren, Savannah Hasty, Sophia King, Carson Spivey, Kiera Mills, Caleb Lupton, Jamie King, Kenlie King, Jayce Wood, Carter Brooks, K.J. King, Jonah King and Averi Brooks; sisters, Shirley (Fred) Brown, Patsy Atkins and Barbara Wallace; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Honoring Jerry as pallbearers will be Jason King, Jr., Cody Spivey, Michael King, Jerod King, Lee Fatheree and Cassidy King. Honoring pallbearers will be Winston Mayes, David Spearman, and Larry McMillion.

The family would like to thank Louisiana HomeCare of Shreveport and Bristol Hospice for the wonderful care and a special thanks to Diane Boise for the care she gave for the last year.
