Jerry L. Gates

Funeral services for Jerry L. Gates will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Brushwood Methodist Church in Dubberly, Louisiana with Angela Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at Brushwood Cemetery under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service.

Jerry was born on December 4, 1947, in Trinity, Texas and entered into rest on July 16, 2025, in Minden, Louisiana.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kerrie Anne Gates, sisters, June Hightower and Cherie Lou Lou Reynolds, and grandchildren, Christopher Young and Braydon Shipp.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Gates of Dubberly; sons, Jason Gates (Rachel) of Minden and John Gates (Christie) of Doyline; daughters, Lacheen Gotshall of Bossier City, Cherie Gates of Minden, and Lesa James of Dubberly; sister, Mary Norsworthy of LaGrange, Texas; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Mark Gloer, Martin Jimenez, Trae Herren, Terry Humphrey, Dustin Smith, and Drew Smith.
