Jerry Ann Hall Erwin died January 10, 2026, after a brief illness. A service will be held in Natchez, Mississippi at a later date. Ms. Erwin was born May 12, 1943, in Foley, AL and was raised in Natchez. After marrying, she lived in Jackson, MS, Bastrop, LA and Camden, AR before moving to Shreveport in 1984.
Jerry worked for almost fifty years and never had a job she didn't love, even though she was defined by some as "bossy". Achievement was important and exciting to her. She was co-owner of a travel agency in Camden, AR, and soon after moving to Shreveport, she was employed by Joyner Tour and Travel for nine years. She was probably the only travel agent in the world who didn't like to travel. Flying was terrifying, and road trips longer than four hours were exhausting and boring. In 1995, she began her 23-year career with the City of Shreveport, Office of the City Engineer, and retired from there in 2018. In her later years, Jerry began writing songs, and in 2019, a CD was created.
Jerry loved her dogs, of which most were rescues, and was never without one or two by her side. They all had a long, happy life. Her grandsons were the light of her life, and she eagerly looked forward to their visits. She also loved candy, flowers, and perfume.
Jerry is survived by her daughter, Dana Ann Erwin Babin and her husband, Scott; her grandsons, Cameron Joseph Babin and Owen Michael Babin, all of Lafayette, LA; her brother, William Marvin Hall, and his three sons, Lee Perkins Hall, Winston Becker Hall and William Mitchell Hall, all of Metairie, LA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Bradshaw of Natchez, MS and her former husband, Steven Cameron Erwin of Shreveport, LA.
The family expresses their appreciation to Dr. Teresa Rinderle, Shelby, and staff, along with the doctors and nurses at Christus Highland Medical Center; to Ginellen Joyner Hunter for her enduring friendship and support. Gratitude is extended to all the Erwins who treated Jerry like family. A special tribute to lifelong friend, Linda Wheeler McFarlane. Their friendship began at age four in Natchez and lasted a lifetime.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, LA 71118.
