Jerry was born on December 28, 1954 to Wilford and Ola Baker in Coushatta, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 in Keithville.
Jerry was a resident of Keithville and graduated from Fairview Alpha in the early 70’s before he moved to Shreveport and met the love of his life, Charlynn Jordan, and began his construction career. He spent many years working for his cousin, Randy Wood, at Quality Acoustics and Drywall. After retiring, he spent many days tinkering from selling watermelons, firewood and doing small engine repair. Family was everything to Jerry. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandson. He enjoyed many trips to the deer camp and fishing on Black Lake. He never met a stranger and loved to pick on people and loved to feed them. He will be greatly missed by his family and by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cheryl Baker Boose; brothers, Roger, Johnny Ray, Ricky, Tootie and Tom Tom Baker; and mother-in-law, Mildred “Momo” Jordan. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Charlynn Jordan Baker; son, Jerry Bryan Baker and wife, Jami; son-in-law, Brandon Boose; siblings, Brooks Baker, Danny Baker, Jackie Baker, Charlotte Baker, Pam Holmon and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Ashton Candler and wife, Tia, Jacob Bradford, Will Bradford, Landon baker, Tate Boose; great-grandchild, Matthew Colby Candler; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honoring Jerry as pallbearers will be Michael Horton, Keith Holloway, Brooks Baker, Jay Jackson, Ashton Candler, Logan Foster, Brandon Boose, Paul Barnett and David Shaw. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Bryan Baker.
The family would like to express special thanks to Caddo District 4 Fire Department and the Caddo Sheriff’s Department for all their effort to save Jerry’s life.
