Jerie Campbell Hutchinson

Jerie Campbell Hutchinson, age 73, was born October 16, 1952, in Dan Diego, CA to Carlin M. and Opal Ledgerwood Campbell. She entered into rest on December 18, 2025, in Homer, LA. Jerie spent most of her life in San Diego where she attended college at San Diego State University and did cheerleading for the university. But, the highlight of her life was being a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers. She had a condo in Laguna Woods, CA, until a wreck. She had been in Claiborne Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Homer since 2022 due to strokes and car accident. Three special cousins, Catherine “Rae” Wedgeworth had been her caregiver for a few years, Catherine Jane who visited her, and Cindy Lester who flew out to California to bring Jerie to Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, who was killed in Vietnam, Butch Campbell.

She is survived by her two aunts, Mary Luetkemyer and Emma Jean Hagar; caregiver, Rae Wedgeworth; and numerous other cousins, and friends.

Jerie’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Claiborne Rehab for the care and compassion shown to her.
