Jeffery L. Wells

Jeffery Lane Wells was born on February 14, 1959 in Lone Star, Texas to Oscar Ray and Audrey Carroll Wells. He entered in eternal rest on March 30, 2021, in Mansfield, Louisiana after a hard-fought battle of a terminal illness. There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony for Jeffery wells on April 17,2021 at 2:00pm at Rock Chapel, 1746 Smithport Lake Road, Carmel, Louisiana. Gathering of family, extended family and beloved friends will follow on the grounds at Immaculate Conception Church. Jeffery retired in 2019 from International Paper after working there for 30 years. He also enjoyed making custom carpentry and furniture pieces and was a collector of memorabilia. He was a great storyteller and had many to tell. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting, and was a big sports fan. Jeffery loved being around his family and friends. He was an inspiration and roll model to his stepsons, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, etc. and was loved and respected. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Preceding Jeffery in death were his Parents, Ray and Audrey Wells. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Stewart Wells of Mansfield, Louisiana; Stepsons, Dennis Watson and wife Crystal of Mansfield, Louisiana, Robert Watson and wife Lauren of Coushatta, Louisiana, Jonathan Watson and wife Megan of Stonewall, Louisiana; Sisters, Glenda Collins of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Brenda Ellzey and husband James Hearron of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Linda Broughton of Shreveport, Louisiana, Phyllis Brister and husband Dewey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Brothers, Danny Wells of Springhill, Louisiana, Marty Wells and wife Tracy of Ruston, Louisiana; Grandchildren, Dagan Watson, Logan Watson, Aaron Watson, Konner Watson, Gracie Watson, Mason Watson, a host of nephews, nieces, extended family members and many beloved friends. Memorial Services honoring the life of Jeffery will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to The Ballard House, 21412 Cinco Park Road, Katy, Texas 77450; and Bell Oaks Inc. (Adult Assisted Living), 228 N. Main Street, Springhill, Louisiana 71075.
