On Sunday, June 22, 2025, Jeffery Lane Smith, age 64, passed away at his residence in Marksville.

Jeffery was from Beaumont, Texas. He was the son of the late Shirley Jajopoli of Arkansas. He was a talented and creative worker. He loved the outdoors and used his skills to help others. Although he is gone, he will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his spouse, Tracy Ducote; step-children, Jerome Batiste, Jr., Melinda Batiste, Thomas Ducote, Jr., Derrick Ducote and Ashley Ducote; grandchildren, Jordan Batiste, Paige Clayton, Traclyn Ducote, Jace Bryant, and many others.
