Jeanne Marie Draper

March 4, 1956 — February 9, 2024

Jeanne Marie Draper

Jeanne Marie Draper, 67, of Pasadena, Texas passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024. She was born on March 4, 1956, in Providence, Rhode Island to Frank and Marie Luisi.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service beginning at 1:00 p.m. located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. John Newman.

Jeanne graduated from Prout Memorial High School in 1974. She was married to Don Daniels from 1982-1991 and together they had two daughters, Jennifer and Kelly. She later met Dan Draper in 2003 while living in Mansfield, Louisiana. They fell in love, and she waited until her youngest daughter graduated in 2005 before moving to Texas. Dan and Jeanne were married on December 29, 2009.

Jeanne spent many years as a homemaker. When her girls were little, she was very involved at Central School to remain close to them. Her duties at Central included K-5 Aide, working in the cafeteria, and driving the school bus. She was also very involved in the school’s PTO. Much of her free time those days was spent carpooling with her daughters and their friends to all their sporting events in her big red suburban. Throughout the rest of her career, she held positions in property and convenience store management until pancreatic cancer forced her into early retirement in 2017.

Jeanne was affectionately known as “Gadget Girl” by her family. She loved cross-stitching, collecting seashells, hunting antiques, crafting, and gardening. Jeanne and Dan loved going to live concerts and attending Houston Astros games. She was free spirited, selfless, always humming and smiling, and had a go- with-the-flow attitude.  She battled pancreatic cancer and brain cancer without complaint or any “why me’s.” At her five-year mark where she would have been classified cancer-free from pancreatic cancer, she was found to have an unrelated brain cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie Luisi. Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dan Draper; daughters, Jennifer Brackman and Kelly Daniels; stepsons, Daniel Draper and wife Jodi of Pearl City, HI, and Joe Draper and wife Erica of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Kadence Brackman (14), Makenna (12), Ryan (6), and Cooper Draper (4); brothers, Frank Luisi and wife Jean, and Michael Luisi; nieces, Allison and Andrea Luisi; along with many other special cousins and friends.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff and physicians at MD Anderson and Houston Hospice nurse, Diane. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to fund cancer research at MD Anderson.
