Jeanine Gereau Brown

On Thursday, October 12, 2023, Jeanine Gereau, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 65, while surrounded by her loved ones. Jeanine was born on May 14, 1958, to Kenneth and Barbara Gereau in Shreveport, Louisiana.  

Jeanine graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1976. She was a devoted mother who spent her early years raising her four children. She started working for Dr. Talley Dentistry over two decades ago where she found her second family. In her free time, she enjoyed walking and traveling with her long-time partner, Richard. They recently returned from a 13-day trip to Alaska which she described as the best trip of her life. She was lovingly known by her grandkids as NeNe and she had an infectious laugh that could be heard from the next town over. When she wasn’t snacking on chips, she could be found rummaging through her candy stash.

Jeanine is preceded in death by her brother, Randy Gereau, and sister Karen Gereau. Left to cherish her memory is her long-time partner of 17 years, Richard Cornelius; children, Greg Orendorff and wife, Jolene, Ashley Coffey and wife, Kelli, Brittany Ashby and husband, Aaron, Jordan Smith and husband, Caleb and Austin Coffey; 10 grandchildren, Lillian, Kaydence, Avery, Jackson, Harper, Lorelei, Conleigh, Daniel, Wrenley and Asher; her parents, Kenneth and Barbara Gereau; siblings, Becky Campbell, Gary Gereau, Alan Gereau, and David Gereau.

A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Rose-Neath Bossier Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana, at 3:00 p.m. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
