Edmiston, 80, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Burial to follow the service at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 US-80, Haughton, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Scott Adams, her pastor and friend, assisted by Youth Pastor Jesse B. Edmiston.

Jeanette was born August 27, 1942, in a work shack in the Bellevue Oil Field, Bossier Parish, and passed away on October 11, 2022, at Intensive Specialty Hospital in Bossier City, surrounded by her family.

Jeanette retired from John S. Turner Company after 36 years. Before that, she worked for the Bossier Greater Economic Foundation and for Hill Crest Cemetery. She was a proud graduate of Bossier High School, class of 1960, and remained active in the alumni association.  Jeanette was an inaugural member of The Bossier City Mayor’s Commission for Women, where she mentored young high school women in Bossier, in addition to leading tours of historic and significant sites in Bossier Parish, such as Old Downtown Bossier, Maggio’s Grocery, Tubbs Hardware, Cobb’s BBQ, City Hall, Parish Courthouse, Bellevue Oil Field, Bossier High School, and many others. She was also a member of the Quota Club and Epsilon Sigma Alpha, where one of her passions was selling tickets for the annual St. Jude’s Dream Home in Bossier. Jeanette loved Bossier Parish and loved telling anyone who would listen about its history and culture. She often took her children and grandchildren on drives around the Parish to point out sites that were important to her.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her father, William (Bill) Bryant; mother, Opal Massey; brother, Michael Bryant; and most importantly, her husband, soulmate, and love of her life of 42 years, John H. Edmiston. She is survived by her children, Bobby W. Edmiston (Miche’al), Jonette Vance (Tim), and Bill Edmiston (Jennifer); grandchildren, Morgan Pye (Brad), Chris Vance, Ashley Edmiston, Jesse Edmiston, Kade Keene, and Ivy Grace Edmiston; great-grandchild, Payton Pye; and her best friend of 67 years, Nan Crow.

Honoring Jeanette as pallbearers will be Larry Farmer, Bruce Farmer, John Holt, Jr., Ron Worley, Harold Ray Parnell, Terrel Goodwin, Brad Pye, Chris Vance, Jesse Edmiston, and Kade Keene.

A special love and thanks to Dr. Robert Smith, II, and Dr. Gerardo San Pedro for their outstanding care and concern.
