Jean N. Walden

Funeral services for Jean N. Walden, 86, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating the service will be Brother Wayne Fussell and Brother Phillip Prince.

Jean was born on December 28, 1939 in Longview, Texas to Eunice Shellie Newman and Paralee Elizabeth Womack Newman and passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She was a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and married Billy H. Walden on August 17, 1956. She was a bookkeeper and secretary for her husband at Walden’s Cabinet Shop. She was a devoted wife and enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eunice and Bessie Newman; husband of 62 years, Billy H. Walden; and brothers, Harold Newman and Shellie Newman. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Debbie Walden Baker of Bossier City, LA and Tammy Walden Prince and husband, Phillip of Jacksonville, FL; son, Keith Walden and wife, Linda of Forney, TX; 7 grandchildren, Chris Baker and wife, Shelly, Jason Baker and wife, Kaleigh, Brian Baker and wife, Heather, Allison Prince, Maegan Rath and husband, Chad, Lisa Saldinger and husband, Jake, Lauren Walden and Sam Wenner; 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Irene Perry and husband, Ed and brother-in-law, Jerry Walden and wife, Mary.

Honoring Jean as pallbearers will be Chad Rath, Chris Baker, Christian Baker, Gauge Tucker, Jason Baker, Brian Baker, Jayden Jackson and Jayce Walker.
