Funeral services for Jasper Don King will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 1 p.m. at City on a Hill First United Pentecostal Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. William C. Puckett Jr., Rev. Dale Puckett, Rev. Cecil Perry and Rev. Jeff Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. till 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Donnie was born September 9, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana and entered into rest November 26, 2017 in Minden, Louisiana. Donnie was a 1958 graduate of Gibsland High School and Louisiana Vo-Tech, graduating with an electrical technician certificate. He served his country in the United States Army and was a retired engineer with L&NW Railroad after a 38- year career. He loved his family and was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by many precious family members.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Puckett King of Minden; son, Jacob King and wife Kortni of Sachse, Texas; daughters, Donna Traynham and husband Mark of McKinney, Texas; Melinda King-Smith of Sachse, Texas; Ranell Parker and husband Brad of Seattle, Washington; and Cindy May and husband Henry of Royse City, Texas; sisters, Elwanda Roper of Harahan, Edna Lane Raner of Lilburn, Georgia, Tena Price and husband Jay of Dubberly, Faye Ferguson of Minden, and Debbie Jacques of Benton, and twelve beloved grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phil Puckett, Josh King, Steve Perry, Mike Puckett, Henry May, Mark Traynham, and Brad Parker.
His nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
