Jason Lamar Turnage met his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 11, 2026, at the age of 48. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Earl and Rita Arnaud Methvien, and his father, James Lamar Turnage.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m.Officiating the service will be Reverend Matthew Hulbert from First Methodist Church Shreveport.
Jason is survived by his mother, Connie Donovan, and stepdad, Gary Donovan, Sr.; his fiancé, Janet Davido; sister, Kelli Doyal; brother-in-law, Cade Doyal; niece, Landri; and nephews, Payton and Drake; his brother, Kyle Turnage; sister-in-law, Jamie Turnage; and nephews, Lane and James.
Jason was born on April 21, 1977, in Bossier City, Louisiana. He grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, and excelled in academics and sports. A lover of baseball and football, he played throughout childhood in the Dixie baseball league and SPAR football. Also, at C.E. Byrd High School, he played on the varsity teams for baseball and football. In 1994, he was a member of the undefeated C.E. Byrd Football District Champion team. During the summers, he played baseball with the American Legion league.
After high school, he attended ULM and was a member of the PIKE fraternity, where he served as President during his senior year. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Toxicology.
After several years in Shreveport, he moved to Saratoga, Wyoming, where he was the manager of Magee Homestead at Brush Creek Ranch. While there, he made many lifelong friendships. He later met the love of his life, Janet, while working at Deer Valley in Park City, Utah. Janet has been a constant source of love, loyalty, and companionship for Jason over the years. Also, he loved and adored their Alaskan Husky, Maya. In recent years, when he wasn’t working at Hilton- Sunrise Lodge, he spent his free time watching sports, cooking, watching movies, or spending time with his sweethearts, Janet and Maya.
Jason will be greatly missed by numerous family and friends. He was known for his love of the LSU Tigers, Duke Blue Devils, and Dallas Cowboys. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, infectious laugh, and the love he had for his family and friends.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff who cared for Jason at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.
