Janis D. Hannon

Bossier City, LA - Janis Davelene Smith Hannon, 73 of Bossier City, LA passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 surrounded by her family. Janis was born November 19, 1945 in Galveston, TX to her parents, Dave and Isabel King Smith. After her birth, the family soon moved to Bossier City, LA. Mrs. Hannon was a 1963 graduate of St. Vincent Academy and a 1983 graduate of BPCC. She enjoyed her career with Commercial National Bank and Regions Bank where she served as Commercial Loan Officer. She served her Lord with her God given musical talents for more than forty years at Christ the King Catholic Church and St. Jude Catholic Church in Bossier City, LA. She was awarded the Diocesan Service Medal for her devotion and dedication. Mrs. Hannon was preceded in death her parents, Dave and Isabel Smith; her brothers, J.D. (Rozelle) and her twin brother, Richard. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 55 years, Harrison; her sons, Joey (Charlene) and Chris (Becky); her grandchildren, Cade, Haley Taylor (Kara), Kathryn and Allison; her sisters, Beverly Zeller (Gus) and Rozelle Smith and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation for Mrs. Hannon will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Christ the King Catholic Church or to the charity of the donor's choice. A special thanks to her caregivers, Dr. Bipin Turakhia and his staff, and Dr. McDonald, Dr. Katz and Dr. Wang at the Willis-Knighton Cancer Center for all of their support during her illness. A private burial will be held at a later date at Forest Park Cemetery, Shreveport, LA.
