Janis Ellen Foster

Leaving this world to be with her beloved Father in heaven, Janis Ellen Foster of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away June 8, 2023 at the age of 84.

Janis was born on April 24, 1939 in Jonesboro, Louisiana to parents, Charles and Wilma Walker. She was the last and youngest of six siblings, Ollie, Dean, Doyle, Charlene, and Maxine.

She loved her extended family and looked forward to hosting and celebrating many of life’s greatest moments together. Janis was a petite, sharp-witted, Southern beauty. Her sparkle and fiery spirit will be forever missed.

Janis is preceded in death by the love of her life, Bobby Ray Foster, who passed away July 24, 2020. They were joined in marriage on September 18, 1959 and were blessed to celebrate life together for 60 years.

She leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Mike Hazel and Melissa and John Pavik; grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, and Eric; and daughter-in-law, Katelyn, and Jason.

Honoring Janis as pallbearers will be Eric Pavik, Jason Pavik, Austin Hazel, Todd Walker, Bobby Hatchett, and Paxton Bedgood.

Her family would like to give a special thank you to her dear niece and closest friend, Debbie Dilliard. Janis had many “Angels” from the Glen Retirement Community. The family wants to recognize their loving kindness and compassion. Thank you to Lifepath Hospice Care for your wonderful care and grace.

Funeral services for Janis Ellen Foster will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Following the funeral, a small graveside gathering will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 at the funeral home starting at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chris Hough of Lifepath Hospice Care.
