Jana Blackwell Johnston

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jana Blackwell Johnston, 63, at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2023, at Cypress Baptist Church, 4701 Palmetto Road, Benton, Louisiana, with Pastor Troy Bayne, officiating. Her family would also like to welcome guests to the visitation on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Cypress Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

 Mrs. Johnston passed away on February 11, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born June 9, 1959, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Johnny Blackwell and Janie Kirkpatrick Blackwell. Jana later graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1977 and immediately started working. 

Jana worked in banking most of her life, a career in which she excelled and was greatly loved and respected by her coworkers and clients at Citizens National Bank, where she was still serving as the Senior Vice President until she could no longer work.

Mrs. Johnston is preceded in death by both of her parents; and her father-in-law, Winfred Johnston. Left to cherish all the incredible memories of Mrs. Jana are her loving husband of 41 years, Roger Johnston; son, Jeremy Johnston and wife, Jodi; her daughter, Jena Johnston; two grandkids whom she loved more than life, Jaxon (14) and Jayde (12); her brother, Jody Blackwell and wife, Elane; sister, Judy Bayne and husband, Troy; mother-in-law, Juanice Johnston; and countless nieces, nephews, and amazing friends.  

Honoring Jana as pallbearers will be Tommy Bourn, Murph King, Rob Blackwell, Jay Bice, Jamie Bice, and Randy Johnston. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Tallant, Daniel Channon, Colton Fisk, Luke Ho, Greg Tyer, Donnie Martin, Kent Tovey, and Sam Van Sandt.

The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and prayers as we navigate this life without our favorite boss.
