SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for James "Herman" Yeates, Sr., 79, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral, 1815 Marshall St, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Bro. John Warner of Ye Olde Faith Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Blanchard Memorial Cemetery, Blanchard, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the funeral home .
Herman was born on December 14, 1936 in Magnolia, AR to Lillie M. Young and Samuel B. Yeates and passed away on October 9, 2016. He graduated from Fair Park High School. Herman was a member of Ye Olde Faith Baptist Church, where he was very dedicated. He loved the Lord, his children, and T. J. his dog. He was "Pappa" to his grandchildren that loved him dearly. His family was very special to him. He was a hardworking man that worked up until his illness would no longer allow him to. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Herman is survived by his sons, James H. Yeates, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Blanchard, LA, and David W. Yeates of Blanchard, LA; daughter, Loretta Wall and husband Pat of Greenwood, LA; grandchildren, Jennifer Pawlik and Hollie Jones; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Emma Jean Allen and husband Curtis of Hawkins, TX, and Mary E. Simons of Dallas, TX; brother, John S. Yeates and wife, Marjorie of Cleburn, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Honoring Herman as pallbearers will be James Yeates, David Yeates, Curtis Allen, Bob Greer, Randy Warner and Brent Jones. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be John Yeates.
