James Melton Sistrunk

Pleasant Hill, LA - Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. James Melton Sistrunk, 77, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill, LA with Rev. Charlotte D. Birdwell and Rev. Dean Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, LA. The family will receive friends at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church on Sunday, January 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. James was born March 23, 1941 in Pleasant Hill, LA to Martin W. and Onie Free Sistrunk and entered into rest on January 4, 2019 at his residence. He was a loving father, brother and grandfather. James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Faye Williams Sistrunk; and several brothers and sisters. Those left behind to cherish his memory are son, Greg Sistrunk and Suzannah of Wallace Community, LA; daughter, Sonya Harris and husband, Jeff of Pleasant Hill, LA; sisters, Joyce Cox of Brandon, MS, Sarah Callens of Kilgore, TX, Shirley Flowers of Delhi, CA; grandchildren, Lauren Burkett and husband, Adam, Megan Sistrunk, Landry Sistrunk, Jakota Harris, Skylie Harris; and a host of family and friends. Honoring James as pallbearers will be Jakota Harris, Jeff Harris, Adam Burkett, Harold Pardee, Robert Leone, Nathan Gewin, Gerald Etheridge and Jackson Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Johnson, Paul Patton, Doyle Stockton, Jerry Callens, Benny Powell, Clarence Gewin and Guffy Lynn Patterson.
