Jimmy Seals of Benton, Louisiana, was 89 years of age. He was the son of James Floyd "Cotton" Seals and Wilton Godfrey Seals.
Jimmy was a graduate of Bossier High School, Class of 1954, and was a lifelong resident of Bossier City/Parish. Jimmy met the love of his life, Shirley, and they were married in 1961. He served in the Army Reserves and was stationed in North Carolina.
Jimmy worked at DXP/SEPCO as an Outside Sales Rep. for 30 years. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Palmetto County Club. Jimmy was a lifelong LSU Tiger fan, attending countless games in Death Valley in his earlier years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Shirley. Later in life, he enjoyed spending time with his family, but he never fully recovered from the loss of his beloved wife in 2015.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley; son, Dennis; and two sisters, Gay Lynn Seals of Bossier City and Georgia Mae Southerland of Baton Rouge and her husband, Oscar Southerland, their son, and nephew, Ray Southerland, and countless dear friends and family.
Jimmy is survived by two sons, James W Seals, Jr, of Bossier Parish, and Ronnie Seals and wife, Felicia of Shreveport; nieces, Tena Krumholt of Prairieville, Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, close friends, Mike and Jeanie Grigsby, Chuck Cook, Alycia Cook, Kennon Cook, and Shannon.
He left this world surrounded by his two boys, James and Ronnie, who loved him so much and attended to his every need.
Honoring Jimmy as pallbearers will be Mike Grigsby, Darik Barseth, Bret Thomas, Ty Martin, Jeff Clark, and Jeff Craig. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Chuck Cook.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ashok Kompelli of Tri-State Medical Clinic, Shane Pilkington, Darren Arant, and Willis Knighton Home Health.
Graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana.
