Memorial Service for James "Jim" N. Roy, 75, will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at First United Methodist Church, 201 John Wesley Blvd, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Jim was born June 21, 1946 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Robert L. Roy, Sr. and Theresa Lillian Ray Roy and passed away on December 19, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Jim was an accomplished master carpenter for about 60 years beginning when he was a very young boy, following his dad and papaw around their home carpenter shop. Beginning in his fifties, Jim became a dedicated and committed friend to Bill W. and Dr. Bob. He worked tirelessly and self-sacrificingly to help others achieve life balance, and as he always said, to achieve a place in life where they could say "I like living this way!" Jim loved his family, many friends, his "baby girls- Daisy, Tina Ballerina and Squeaky-cat", as well as his devoted wife of forty-two years. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; "little" sister, Maureen "Marti" R. Butt, older sister Barbara Roy; grandmother Velma R. Brown; step-grandfather, Otis Brown, mother and father-in-law, Betty Allen and Herbert Allen; along with many friends and numerous others. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Allen Roy; brother, Robert "Bob" Roy and wife, Phyllis; sister, Cheryl Prince and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Roy, Jr., Robert Tucker, George Etheridge, Don Hooper, Mike Talley, "Big John" Lewis, David Bowman, Greg Wynne, Jim Murray, Richard Choate, Bernard Wright, "Buzz" Hortman, Roland McKneely, Bo McKneely and Jimmy Dale McDonald. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials may be made to Shrines Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Ave, Shreveport, Louisiana 71103.
