Buddy", 76, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 surrounded by family at Christus Shreveport Bossier Health - Highland. James was born May 19, 1943 in Natchez, MS where he lived a few years before moving to the Shreveport Bossier area where he then spent the majority of his life.
Buddy started as a welder at Riley Beard in Shreveport where he then moved on to be a business owner and operator of several dry cleaner and laundry facilities. Buddy then transitioned on to work for Bossier Parish School Board for over 20 years and advanced in various departments where he is currently the complaints and investigation manager.
Buddy was married to Debra June Richardson, his soul mate, who preceeded him death January of 2014. Buddy is survived by his sisters Pat Williams and Rita Richardson, as well as his daughter Amanda Gower, son Jerry Brown wife Kristen Brown and youngest son Dr. Conner Brown wife Sarida Brown. Grandchildren: Zoie Gower, Hollon Gower, Jr., Elizabeth Brown and Julia Brown. Buddy is survived by a host of nieces and nephews who he loved very dearly as well as his Special friend and dance partner Ann Crouch.
Buddy was preceeded in death by his mother Stella brother Larry and sister Linda Richardson.
Buddy was well known for his love of fishing, music, dancing, being with friends, football, and baking. Buddy was extremely loving and cherished life especially his grandchildren. He was adored by all and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 5, 2019 between the hours of 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with chapel service direct to follow at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel. The interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery.
