James Earl Owen

Shreveport, LA - James Earl Owen age 55, passed away on December 9, 2019 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mr. Owen was born to Wilmer Faye Owen on June 12, 1964 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in Shreveport, La. He retired from LSU medical center as an electrician and HVAC. Mr. Owen true passion was playing pool and was a member of the Amateur Pool Association. He loved 70's music and riding his four wheeler. Mr. Owen was preceded in death by brother, Dennis Dans; uncle, Earl R. Owen. He is survived by his parents, Jay and Faye Swartout; siblings, Eric Swartout and wife Amanda, Cynthia Peterson, Craig Swartout and wife Tammy; nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Pastor Daryl Miller will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers the family ask to make donations to Oshners/LSU Neuro ICU or Saint Jude's. Family would like to acknowledge Neuro ICU staff and a special thanks to David Kilgore for taking great care of James.
