James Morgan

A funeral service to celebrate the life of James Morgan, 73, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Plain Dealing Church of Christ, 501 E Palmetto Ave, Plain Dealing, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill Cemetery Road Plain Dealing, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Adam Miller, Minister of Plain Dealing Church of Christ.

James was born April 12, 1949, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana to James C. Morgan and Mary Gleason Morgan, and passed on to be with the Lord after a lengthy battle with illnesses.

James was a member of Plain Dealing Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon.  

James is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley Jester and Nelda Gray; and brother, Talmadge Morgan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Charlene “Charli” Morgan; son, Jason Morgan and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Destinee and Gage; great-grandchildren, Madilyn and Odalie; sisters, Earline Swain and Janice Gillenwater; brother, Roy Morgan and wife, Mary; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring James as pallbearers will be Mark Morgan, Eugene Clark, Daryl Gillenwater, David Jones, Mark Crouch, and Gary Lott.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 3100 Samford Ave, Shreveport, Louisiana 71103.
