James C. McCain, Sr.

James C. McCain Sr., 67 years of age, joined our Lord in Heaven on Friday, May 24, 2019 after a lengthy battle with renal cell carcinoma. Visitation is from 10:00 to 11:00 on Monday, May 27, 2019 at St. Mary's of the Pines Catholic Church in Shreveport with funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. James was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, August 14, 1951 to T.C. and Laura Mae McCain. James retired from Morris and Dickson, Co. Ltd. and was an active member at St. Mary's of the Pines Catholic Church for many years. James was an active member of the Order of the Fleur de Lis and Knights of Columbus. James was a dedicated and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. James was preceded in death by his father, T.C. McCain Sr.; mother, Laura Mae McCain; and brother, Charles Edward McCain. He leaves behind his wife, Rita McCain; son, James C. McCain Jr.; daughter-in-law, Rachael McCain; daughter, Kelly Parker; son-in-law, Matt Parker; grandchildren, Christina Fox (Matt Fox), Erik McCain (Elizabeth McCain), Hannah Parker, Kendall Parker; special grandson, Michael Peters; great-grandchildren, Chord Fox and Caylor Fox; special granddaughter, Brittanie McCarty; siblings, Jane Pyle, Thomas McCain, Jr., and Linda Lawrence; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The family would like to acknowledge Dr. Robert Nicholson and staff for their excellent care for the last four years. We would also like to thank St. Joseph's Hospice and Charlotte for their loving care and support in James' last days.
