James "Jimmy" Kidd, Sr.

Graveside service for Mr. James “Jimmy” L. Kidd, Sr. will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Gibsland Cemetery. Bro. Gary Johnson will officiate.

Jimmy was born on June 3, 1931, in Gibsland, Louisiana to C.A. “Babe” Kidd, Sr. and Annie Marshall Kidd. He entered into rest on June 7, 2025, in Minden, Louisiana. He worked as a locomotive engineer for Louisiana NW Railroad.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Babe and Annie Kidd, and by his brothers C.A. Kidd, Jr., Sonny Kidd, and Buster Kidd.

He is survived by his son James Kidd, Jr., grandchildren Brandon Heath Kidd and wife Maria of Visalia, CA, James L. Kidd III of Arcadia, LA, and Joshua Steven Kidd and wife Megan of Mt. Lebanon, LA, great grandchildren Olivia, Evangeline, Layla, Jordan, and Kinsley, sister Mary Jo Savacool, and by numerous other nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Kidd, Josh Kidd, Jordan Kidd, Scott Kidd, Mark Kidd, and Dennis Cottle. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Kidd.
