James "Jim" Rufus Giles, Jr.

A Memorial Service for James “Jim” Rufus Giles, Jr., 65, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 322 Shiloh Road, Springhill, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Danny Sykes.

Jim was born on August 20, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to James Rufus Giles, Sr. and Earlene Wallace Giles, and passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

Jim was a truck driver for 41 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and traveling. His family and friends were the upmost important thing in his life. He never had any children of his own, but his nice Destyne Whittington was like having a granddaughter to him. His brother Glen is going to miss waking up and sharing a fresh cup of coffee together. Jim loved all of his family and friends deeply and will be greatly missed.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Grainger; brother, James Michael Giles. He is survived by his brother, Glen Denmon; brother-in-law, Lester Grainger; uncle, Lawrence Wallace, Jr.; niece, Michelle Wallace and husband, Gary; nephew, Lawrence Wallace; best friend, Steve Gaskin; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Honoring Jim as pallbearers will be Steve Gaskin, Lawrence Wallace, Jr., Mac McGuire, David Pain, Kenith Oglee, and Gary Whittington.
