James O. "Bo" Holcomb, 81, of DeBerry, Texas went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Bo was born December 2, 1938 in West Monroe, LA to Oscar and Mable Holcomb. He is preceded in death by his late parents and his beloved wife of 47 years, Judith M. "Judy" Holcomb.
Bo served his country in the United States Navy. He was a rodeo competitor and performer. He retired from working at Atlas/Pennzoil processing plant as an operator. He enjoyed John Wayne films, Elvis Presley, LSU football, hunting, and fishing. He was a former longtime member of Baptist Tabernacle in Shreveport, Louisiana, and a current member of Midyett Baptist Church in DeBerry, Texas. He was a devoted family man, and loved to spend time with his friends, children, and grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are 3 daughters: Cherrie Young, Julie Widmer and Tracy Armistead; 4 grandchildren: Kaylee Thomas, Jole Walker, Alex Ramer and Addie Ramer; and 3 great grandchildren: Hunter Thomas, Remi Thomas, and Calliope Cerritos.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Bill Blackstock, Jay Emory, Wayne Robinson, Larry Brossett, Harold Snowden and Richard Lopez. Honorary Pallbearer is Bill Nolan.
Funeral services for Bo will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 12, noon, at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Bill Kincaid and Bro. T-Bone Fontenot. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until service time, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the funeral home. A reception will be held at 2:30 at Baptist Tabernacle 8501 E. Kingston Road.
