Funeral services for James A. "Jimmy" Heflin will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at North Acres Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Everett Geis officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at North Acres Baptist Church prior to the service.
Jimmy, age 93, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, after a brief illness. He was born November 15, 1928. He was a faithful member of North Acres Baptist Church. Jimmy worked as a superintendent at Alpha Construction for many years until his retirement. He loved to play music with his family, he played the bass fiddle at many church gatherings along side his mother, Estelle on the piano and his dad on the guitar. In his younger years, he belonged to a group known as the Louisiana Swing Boys alongside his mother, father, and uncles. You could hear them on the radio station-KWKH. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and going to breakfast every morning at Hamburger Happiness and visiting with friends. Jimmy was a wonderful Dad and Grandfather, and a friend to many. He will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Estelle Heflin; first wife, Martha King Heflin; second wife, Agnes Heflin, and daughter, Lana Worley.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Mouser and husband Kenneth of Shreveport, stepdaughter, Judy Morrison of Dubberly; brother-in-law Ernest King and wife Shirley of Texarkana, Texas; aunt, Kathleen Richardson of Sibley; son-in-law, Loren Worley of Houston, Texas; special cousin and friend, Mary Jo O'Rear of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Sydney Mouser, Landry Worley, and Logan Worley; 6 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Heflin, Kenneth Mouser, Alex Kirk, Tom Kirk, and Cory Kirk.
Memorials may be made to North Acres Baptist Church, Minden, Louisiana, or the American Cancer Society.
