Funeral services for James “Jim” Alfred Gallman will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mike Welch.

Jim was a proud veteran, having served with honor in the United States Army and the United States Air Force Reserve for a combined total of 13 years. For 56 years, he was happily married to Sally Gallman, a partnership built on mutual respect, love, and shared experiences. Together, they created a warm and loving home where laughter and joy flourished, particularly during family gatherings filled with the presence of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

His creative spirit was evident in his diverse hobbies, which encompassed an extensive range of crafting pursuits, including jewelry making and painting. He also enjoyed relaxing in front of the television, where he followed his favorite soap operas and cheered for his sports teams, including the New Orleans Saints and LSU football. As a sports enthusiast, Jim found excitement in watching NASCAR and baseball.

Jim will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Young Belle Gallman, and Fannie Lee Gallman and his sister, Josephine Higgison. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Gallman; sons, James Gallman and wife, Marisa, Nick Gallman and wife, Mandy, David Gallman and wife, Sondrea, and Jeremy Gallman and wife, Amy; grandchildren, James Jr, Jacob, Kelsey, Cody, Joseph, Amanda, Matthew, Emily, and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Avery, Kensley, Lainey, Weston, and Carter; sister-in-law, Donna Welch, and nephew, John Shelton Jones and wife, Heather.

Honoring Jim as pallbearers will be Matthew Gallman, Joseph Gallman, Darren Jones, Chad Hahn, Joshua Gallman, Paul Sharp, and Jeffery Cox. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cody Gallman, Weston Gallman, John Shelton Jones, James Gallman, Jr., and Jacob Gallman.

The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses and staff of Riverview Care Center.
