James Wendell Frye

A graveside service for James Wendell Frye, age 95, will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Gilgal Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Brother Orvell Bryant. James was born March 18, 1926 in Garland, Texas to Thomas Calvin and Addie Lee Frye and passed away May 23, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Working in the oilfield for many years, James was known for his hard, solid work ethic. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gibsland, Louisiana and served as a Deacon. James is preceded in death by his brothers, Theran Frye and wife Mavis and Clint Frye and wife Nell; first wife, Carla Frye; step-daughter Debbie Frye and step great grandchild, Lexi Wise. He is survived by his wife Juanita Frye; son, David Frye; stepsons, Barry Dobbins and Terry Dobbins; grandchildren, Kurt Frye and Brennen Frye and great grandchild Sophie; 8 step grandchildren and 20 step great grandchildren.
