Funeral services honoring the life of James Douglas Ferguson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Jackie Meeks. A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Interment will be held at Prude Cemetery in Grand Cane, Louisiana. James was born on August 13, 1943, in Trenton, Louisiana to Jessie E. Ferguson and Edna Patrick Ferguson. He entered into rest on August 30, 2021 in Mansfield, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Edna Ferguson; sons, Tim Ferguson, Joe Ferguson, Poncho Ferguson; sister, Pat Booker; son-in-law, Kenneth Dale Freeman Sr.. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Shirley Ayers Ferguson of Mansfield, Louisiana; Son, Jim Ferguson of Mansfield, Louisiana; daughter, Jennifer Ferguson of Mansfield, Louisiana; sister, Mary Spencer of Houston, Texas; brother, Buddy Ferguson and wife Sonya of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Ferguson and wife Lacy, Danielle Ferguson, Kenneth "Spooky" Freeman and wife Page, Nicole Ferguson, Matthew "Stomper" Ferguson, Emily Ferguson; grand-grandchildren, Harley Stewart, Chloe Stewart; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Honoring James as pallbearers will be Curtis Terrell, Clarence Terrell, Matthew Ferguson, Justin Ferguson, Kenneth Freeman, Nathaniel Stewart.
